“Goddess”…...As old as humankind, these females of divinity have been honored in cultures throughout the world. This diverse marching show explores three extremely unique Goddesses, which open up your program to a wide variety of musical and visual options exploring these fierce females who embody a mixture of war, love and destruction….. The opener starts with the War Drums of the Viking Norseman who carry her name into battle. This opener captures the nature of her reign and utilizes the power chords of Gustav Holts’ Mars the Bringer of War coupled with Richard Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries. This intense movement is sure to get your staff inspired by many opportunities for unique and character driven body work. FREYJA, the Viking Goddess of War. Greek Mythology speaks to her incomparable beauty, what a better way to soften the stage and music and have it inspired by APHRODITE, The Greek Goddess of Love. This ballad features the Pentatonix version of Elvis Presley's sweet I Can’t Helping Falling in Love, with a lovely trombone quartet in the beginning and a breathtaking ensemble statement having your audience falling for the goddess of love as well. Born of the South Pacific Islands, she is the embodiment of the destruction and nature’s wrath. The percussion feature and closer explore the essence of PELE, The Hawaiian Goddess of Fire. Using Stavinsky’s Firebird, this movement amps up with an explosion of sound worthy of a volcano and the goddess ending with a musical recaps of the iconic musical lines representing each goddess. This show is sure to become a favorite and memorable show amongst the audience, students and judges with the diverse musical and visual palettes of the Vikings, Greeks, and Hawwians your program will come to worship, Goddess.
